The Town of Hampton will be holding a General Election on April 3,2012 for 2 town council seats. These are currently held by Mr.Pete Hagood and Mrs. Anna Sue Rivers. Filing for the 2 seats officially opens on Jan.20,2012 at noon and closes on Feb.3,2012. Anyone wishing to run,may pay their filing fees at Hampton Townhall. Residents wanting to vote in this election must be registered by 5pm on March 3,2012. To vote using an absentee ballot you must contact the Hampton County Board of Elections and Voter Registrations at 201 Lee Ave.

There are a few recently passed ordinances which may be of interest to the public. On November 1,2011 an ordinance prohibiting the sale, use, or possession of Synthetic Marijuana and Bath Salts was signed into law and may be found here.
